Runners participating in VnExpress Marathon, starting from Quy Nhon race this Sunday, can donate items to support disadvantaged people and poor children.

The VM Sharing Foundation is implemented by VnExpress Marathon and local charities where the tournament takes place. It is dedicated to spreading the spirit of community among runners and the society.

Binh Dinh Red Cross Society will be the first to receive the donations. Runners can donate both used and new items such as shirts, pants, shoes, running gear... to the Red Cross booth at VM Quy Nhon Expo area from June 9 to 11. The unit will coordinate with the organizers to receive, sort, clean and give it to needy people, especially children in the province.

Pham Minh Tung, Vice Chairman of the Binh Dinh Red Cross Society, said the items donated by runners will be given to students of boarding schools for ethnic minorities in An Lao, Vinh Thanh and Van Canh districts. The program expects to receive around 2,000 shirts and other items.

The Binh Dinh Red Cross Society hopes the activity can become regular, attracting thousands of people to participate in each VM occasion.

VnExpress Marathon Sparkling Quy Nhon 2023 will take place on June 11, expected to attract 10,000 participants. Runners will start at 3 a.m., and run along the city's most stunning coastal roads such as Xuan Dieu and Nguyen Tat Thanh, Thi Nai Bridge, and Phuong Mai sand hill.

Binh Dinh Province has prepared many programs to welcome a large number of visitors, such as calling for accommodation facilities and restaurants to list prices and offer incentives for runners. Tour operators also introduced many sea tours. The whole event is expected to contribute VND10 billion (US$425,777) to the province's tourism revenue.
