Martial artist Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat auctioned his ONE Championship medal and held a charity fight to raise donations for central Vietnam's disaster victims.

The auction was part of a martial arts event called "No. 1 Muay Club Fight Night Warrior Spirit" that Nhat hosted Sunday in Saigon's District 1, featuring 15 bouts between fighters of local clubs.

The event raised nearly VND250 million (over $10,700) with his second One Championship medal fetching VND200 million (over $8,600).

The funds collected will be used to help flood victims in his native province, Quang Ngai. He and a few others will head to the region on November 14-16 to help with ongoing relief efforts.

The central region was repeatedly hit by torrential rains, widespread flooding and landslides triggered by four storms in October.

At another charity fight that he organized in August, Nhat had auctioned his first ONE Championship medal as well as a pair of gloves to help the poor and to assist struggling coaches and athletes in HCMC.

He made his ONE Championship debut on September 6, 2019 in HCMC. It was also ONE's debut in Vietnam. In that fight he knocked out Azwan Che Wil of Malaysia in the third round. On November 22, 2019, he faced Japanese champion Yuta Watanabe at ONE Championship: Edge Of Greatness in Singapore. A second round head kick earned him another knockout victory.

Nhat is one of the most decorated and experienced fighters in Vietnam, specializing in Muay Thai and Lethwei (Burmese boxing). He is currently signed to ONE Championship, the number one martial arts media company in Asia and the World Lethwei Championship, a promotion firm based in Myanmar.

He is a five-time World Muay Thai Federation champion and a four-time SEA Games medalist in Muay Thai. Nhat has also won many other Muay Thai international championships and has only lost two matches throughout his professional career.
