Tran Quyet Chien and Nguyen Quoc Nguyen are set to compete at the UMB 3C Grand Prix 2021 in South Korea in the next two weeks.

The tournament is set to take place from July 5 to 18 and gather many top-class cueists.

The World Union of Billiards (Union Mondiale de Billard) has changed the format of this year’s tournament, with 32 cueists to be divided into four groups of eight. The cueists will play on a round-robin basis and the top four from each group will advance to the next round.

Each game will feature three sets. In the first two sets of 25 minutes each, whoever gets the higher score wins. Later, if the score is a draw, the players will enter the third set, which will last for 15 minutes. Whoever gets a higher score after 15 minutes or reaches 17 points first wins the game.

Chien will be in group C with Eddy Merckx (Belgium), Antonio Montes (Spain), Gulsen Degener (Turkey) and four South Korean cueists Cho Chi-yeon, Kim Jun-tae, Heo Jung-han and Kang Ja-in.

The winner of this tournament will pocket $300,000.
