Top Vietnamese badminton players Nguyen Tien Minh, Nguyen Thuy Linh and Vu Thi Trang are set to play 2021 BWF World Championships in December.

Minh is Vietnam’s current number one badminton player and former world number four. His wife, Trang, is the second-ranked player in Vietnam. Both are veteran players and have competed in many international tournaments, including the Olympics.

Linh had taken part in her first Olympics in July this year. She defeated two players in her group and only got eliminated after losing to world number one Tai Tzu Ying of Taiwan. After the Olympics, Linh returned to Japan for training and to improve her level. She’s currently 46th on world rankings. With her current form and age, Linh will be Vietnam’s biggest hope at BWF World Championship.

2021 BWF World Championship will be held from Dec. 12 to 19 in Huelva, Spain.

General Secretary of Vietnam Badminton Federation Le Thanh Ha told the press this tournament would offer a valuable chance for Vietnamese players to sharpen their skills on the international stage after they have hardly competed in any tournaments in the recent past due to Covid-19.
