Hoi An to host World Pickleball Championship

The ancient town of Hoi An has been chosen as the location for the World Pickleball Championship, set to take place in January 2025.

The tournament will be hosted at the new premium court of the Hoiana Resort & Golf, which has eight indoor and outdoor competition areas.

Jan David, founder of Pickleball Global and the World Pickleball Championship, said in a press statement that with international standard facilities, the court system in Hoi An is qualified to host the tournament.

Tao Viet Hai, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam Province which is home to Hoi An, stated that pickleball has significant potential to boost economic and social development of the province. He expressed hope that exciting sporting events and activities could become distinctive attractions, drawing more tourists to Quang Nam.

The 2025 World Pickleball Championship, one of the major pickleball tournaments, will feature top players from mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
