As 2024 draws to a close, British magazine Time Out has recommended Vietnam's Da Nang City and the Mekong Delta among the most ideal destinations to visit in 2025.

In its list of eight best places to visit in Asia next year, Da Nang stands out for its stunning beaches, diverse entertainment options, and rich culinary experiences.

The magazine highlighted Da Nang as a rapidly evolving coastal gem, quickly catching up with Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi thanks to its burgeoning dining and bar scene.

In 2024, Da Nang had 16 new Bib Gourmand entries in the Michelin Guide and its first Michelin star awarded to the French fine-dining restaurant, La Maison 1888, Time Out noted.

Topping the list is Sumba, a pristine Indonesian island located about 50 minutes by plane from Bali.

Other destinations on the list include Siargao Island in the Philippines, Taiwan, Ipoh in Malaysia, Osaka in Japan, Nan in Thailand, and Lijiang in mainland China.

In another list of the 13 best places to visit in January next year, the Mekong Delta, known as Vietnam's rice basket and flower-growing hub, ranked eighth.

With an average temperature of around 23 degrees Celsius, January is considered the perfect time to visit the Mekong Delta.

The warm, dry, and mildly sunny weather provides ideal conditions for exploring its dense network of rivers weaving through tropical forests, unique villages, floating markets, and pagodas.

January also coincides with Tet, Vietnam's biggest and most important holiday, when flower villages across the Mekong Delta are in full bloom, showcasing vibrant colors and lively festivities.

Fresh flowers play a central role in Vietnamese Tet traditions, serving as offerings to deities and ancestors to pray for luck and prosperity, as well as for home decorations.

The upcoming Tet celebrations will peak on Jan. 29, 2025.
