F1 legend Lewis Hamilton splits from actress 12 years his senior Sofia Vergara

The pair sparked dating rumors after they were spotted enjoying a lengthy lunch in New York City in January. According to TMZ, the two spent more than two hours at the restaurant, appearing relaxed and joyful as they laughed and chatted outside before parting ways. It also noted that Vergara, 52, was so engaged in conversation that she barely touched her food.

However, the rumored relationship seems to have cooled. RadarOnline reported that the 40-year-old F1 racer and the "Modern Family" star have now gone their separate ways. While Vergara reportedly considered Hamilton her "perfect boyfriend material," sources say the seven-time world champion was not as invested, leaving Vergara feeling sidelined.

"They're still talking and texting on occasion but it's one-sided," a source told RadarOnline. Vergara is the one making the effort, hoping for more while getting little in return."

Hamilton is no stranger to high-profile romances. He famously dated Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls for several years before breaking up in 2016. Since then, he has been linked to Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Barbara Palvin, Winnie Harlow, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Shakira, Rita Ora, Camila Kendra and Sofia Richie.

With his personal life once again under the spotlight, Hamilton now seems to be refocusing on his racing career. He joined Ferrari at the start of the 2025 Formula 1 season on a lucrative three-year deal reportedly worth up to US$500 million, as he aims to surpass Michael Schumacher's tied record of seven world titles.

Hamilton's season has been mixed so far. After a difficult start in Australia, where he finished 10th, he bounced back with a win in the race in China. However, his sixth-place finish in the Chinese Grand Prix on March 23 was later invalidated due to excessive underbody wear, just half a millimeter beyond the allowed limit. He currently sits ninth in the standings, 35 points behind leader Lando Norris.

Vergara is one of the highest-paid television actors in Hollywood history, thanks to her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in "Modern Family" (2009–2020). The role of Gloria in the hit comedy series earned Vergara four Golden Globe nominations, four Primetime Emmy nominations and seven Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. For several years in a row, Vergara has been the highest-paid actress on American television.

While Hamilton has never been engaged, Vergara has had two failed marriages. The Colombian beauty first married her childhood sweetheart Joe Gonzalez at the age of 18, and had a son two years later. She then split from her actor husband, Joe Manganiello, in July 2023 after seven years of marriage. The couple finalized their divorce in April 2024.
