Hong Kong actor and singer Nicholas Tse has generated 1.5 billion yuan (US$206 million) in revenue over four years from selling fresh sausages through his own food brand.

Launched in 2021 with a Hangzhou-based partner, Tse’s brand has led the fresh sausage market in mainland China for three years in a row, according to Shanghai-based financial platform East Money. A set of three boxes, each with eight sausages, retails for 109 yuan.

Tse promotes the product in his own videos, with his name and image featured on the packaging. His Douyin sales channel has attracted over 2.6 million followers.

The brand, launched in partnership with a Hangzhou-based company, recorded average monthly sales exceeding 10 million yuan in its first three months.

Tse has since expanded into other food and beverage items, including popcorn, coffee, instant noodles, and mooncakes. He also markets trend-driven products such as blind boxes and tote bags aimed at younger consumers.

According to Mirror Media, Tse’s assets surpassed US$130 million as of 2020. He remains active in entertainment, business, and investment across mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.

Tse, 45, began his career as a singer in 1996 before transitioning to acting. Some of his most notable films include "Metade Fumaca," "New Police Story," "The Stool Pigeon," "Raging Fire," and "The Proud Twins."

In addition to his entertainment career, Tse’s personal life has also attracted significant public attention. He married Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung in 2006, but the couple divorced in 2011. After their split, Tse rekindled his romance with Hong Kong diva Faye Wong, 55.
