The second edition of VM Hai Phong will have some adjustments to enhance experience, including a change in starting location. All four distances start at To Huu garden in the city center. The three shorter distances also finish here, while 42km distance finishes at Do Son beach.
VnExpress Marathon Hai Phong will take place on Dec. 15, making it the closing event for VM races to 8 cities in 2024. The race is expected to attract 10,000 runners.
Last year, with favorable weather conditions and route, the race recorded 82 sub-3 finishers, and 378 sub 3:30 finishers, which are the highest among marathons held in Vietnam to date.
Runners and their companions to the race can visit Hai Phong’s attractions such as Do Son beach and Cat Ba Island. Do Son is itself home to many spiritual attractions such as Hang Pagoda, Van Ngang Temple, and Ba De Temple.
The city is famous for a variety of tasty dishes such as crab noodle soup, spicy fish noodle soup, spicy banh mi, and coconut sweet soup.
