Leading Asian MMA tournament returns to Vietnam

Following the success of the 28th edition, the 29th AFC MMA tournament will continue to be held in the southeastern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on Dec. 9.

This event includes seven matches, including four title fights. One of the highlights is the lightweight (70.4 kg) fight between South Korea’s Park Jae Hyun and Australia’s Addalla Biayda. Park represents the famous South Korean MMA studio Korean Zombie, while Biayda, with a height of of 1.91 m, has an impressive record of 8 wins after 9 fights.

Another South Korean fighter Kim Sang Wook (9 wins, 3 losses) will compete for the welterweight title (77.2 kg) against Arvin Chan of Philippines (8 wins, 10 losses).

In addition, there are two bouts for the interim featherweight title (65.9 kg) between Song Young-jae - a South Korean who has won all of his five fights with four knockout wins and Japan’s Shimizu Shunichi, who had 74 fights and won 35.

The final title match in the lightweight (70.4kg) category will be an encounter between South Korea’s Hong Jun-young, (12 wins, 7 losses, 1 draw), who also represents Korean Zombie, and Indonesia’s Alfiandi Galih with 7 wins and 3 losses.

The remaining matches also promise to be highly entertaining. Two giant fighters, Jang Sung-hyo of South Korea and Uzbekistan’s Abdulaziz will compete in the heavyweight (120 kg) event.

In the middleweight (84 kg) event, Cha In-ho of South Korea will fight Iran’s Ali Akbarpour. The last match is between South Korea’s Ko Seok-hyeon and Alwin Kincai of Indonesia in the welterweight (77.2 kg) event.

AFC (Angel's Fighting Championship) is a series of professional MMA events in Asia. The tournament was held in Vietnam for its 21st, 23rd, 25th and 28th edition with many top matches, gathering famous and quality fighters. The 29th edition in December will continue to take place at The Grand Ho Tram Strip Resort, Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

The 29th AFC is once again organized by Cocky Buffalo, Vietnam's leading fighter training company.
