Harris Horatius will get awarded with a house after he won the wushu gold medal at Asian Games for Indonesia on Tuesday.

The Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo said Horatius is going to get a house, after his performance in the nanquan and nangun all-around event brought Indonesia their third gold medal in the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, who is also the leader of Indonesia sports delegation in this Asian Games, will give Horatius the house.

In the nanquan performance, Horatius got a score of 9.756. He was only 0.020 points ahead of South Korea's Lee Yong-mun.

Horatius maintained the same form in his nangun performance and finished first with a score of 9.750, defeating Macau's Junhua Huang by just 0.010.

This is the first medal and the first gold for Horatius in Asian Games. In the 2018 edition in Jakarta, Indonesia, he only finished ninth.

Earlier on Sunday, another wushu athlete of Indonesia, Edgar Marvelo, took home the silver medal after scoring 9.786 in the men's changquan event.

The previous two gold medals of Indonesia all came from shooting.

Vietnam have not won a gold medal in Asian Games this year, but the National Olympics Committee has encouraged athletes in the competition by raising the bonus from VND200 million to 400 million ($8,200 to 16,400) for the gold medal winner.
