Hull posted a video on her Instagram story on Monday, revealing the bet during a round at Sunningdale Golf Club. The clip showed her handing her pack of cigarettes to Evans, with the caption: "Deal is a deal, let's see if I'm a woman of my word."
"Today, I've made the decision that I'm going to stop smoking," Hull said at the start of the video. "If I pick up a cigarette in the next two months, I'll give you 10 grand, and I'm shaking on that. Deal."
Hull then asked Evans to throw her cigarettes in the trash. Evans later shared a photo of Hull signing the cigarette box, joking that he was going to put it on eBay, USA Today reported.
The 28-year-old English golfer made headlines at the U.S. Women's Open last year when she was spotted signing autographs with a cigarette in her mouth. At the time, she admitted that, despite the viral moment, she actually hated smoking.
"Yeah, listen, my dad smokes 40 a day since he was 12 years old and now he's 75, and my nephew smokes who is like 25," Hull said. "My whole family smokes, so it's not something that I've noticed being odd. I hate smoking. I used to curse at my dad when I was younger for smoking, but I think it's to do a little bit when I'm stressed."
Currently no. 10 in the Rolex Rankings, Hull recently competed in the Sunningdale Foursomes alongside her Solheim Cup teammate Georgia Hall. The duo made it to the round of 16 where they were eliminated.
Hull has achieved considerable success during her golfing career. In 2013, she became the youngest player to compete in the Solheim Cup. In 2016, she won the CME Group Tour Championship, the prestigious season-ending event of the LPGA Tour.
