Coach Jurgen Gede affirmed Viettel FC would try to beat BG Pathum United in their AFC Champions League (ACL) clash Monday night.

"We came here to get experience, but nobody is happy when they lose. At the moment, all eyes are on the rematch with BG Pathum United and it will not be easy. We know how we need to play and keep our position. It all depends on the situation on the pitch, but we will do our best. The team are in good spirits," Gede said in the pre-match press conference Sunday.

Defender Nguyen Trong Hoang revealed Viettel would definitely change their style of play compared to the last game.

"Viettel have prepared more options on the offense to beat the opponent. We can create more long-range attempts to drill through that defense. In the last game, Viettel had 70 percent possession but the opponent were better at converting their chances," Hoang said.

Pathum head coach Aurelio Vidmar stayed confident about repeating the victory over Viettel.

"There are things that are unknown until they happen, but we have prepared as best as we could. I can’t see why we can’t get another three points from them," Vidmar said.

Viettel are third in group F of ACL with one win and two losses. After their 0-2 loss against Pathum in the last ACL match Friday, Viettel must score three points against the Thai League champions Monday should they hope to advance.
