"We have learned valuable lessons in the last match with Ulsan Hyundai and it’s now time for the next game. We have an opportunity to make something out of ACL and we are heading to the game with Kaya-Iloilo with high confidence," Gede told the press Monday.
Viettel are Vietnam's only presentative at ACL this season. They lost to the defending champions, South Korean club Ulsan Hyundai, 0-1 on Saturday after conceding a last-minute own goal.
Kaya-Iloilo too lost 0-4 to Thai champions BG Pathum United in their previous game.
Gede said in the last match, Ulsan were really strong so Viettel had to play defensively. However, the capital club will have a different approach when facing Kaya-Iloilo.
"Viettel will change tactics. The team will employ different modes of attack to score goals," midfielder Nguyen Hoang Duc said.
In the game with Kaya-Iloilo, Viettel will field their strongest squad with the return of two key players in defense.
The match will take place at Pathum Thani Stadium in Thailand Tuesday night.
