Vietnam’s women’s football team secured a dominant 5-0 victory over Indonesia in the semi-final on Saturday in Chonburi, advancing to the SEA Games final for the 11th consecutive edition.

Under the 30 C sun, Vietnam controlled the match from the outset, with coach Mai Duc Chung’s side maintaining consistent pressure and converting opportunities into a decisive win befitting defending champions.

Early chances came for Vietnam, including a free kick from Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy and one-on-one attempts by Pham Hai Yen, though Indonesia’s defense managed to clear the ball.

The breakthrough arrived in the 27th minute when Thai Thi Thao’s long-range shot led to a handball by Indonesian defender Yumanda Gea. Thuy converted the resulting penalty into the opening goal.

Vietnam continued to dominate in the second half. A fumbled back pass by Indonesia allowed Yen to score in the 49th minute. She later completed a brace in the 58th minute, assisted by Tran Thi Thu.
