Vietnam will begin the Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers with a match against Afghanistan on Sept 23.

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced the schedule for the qualifiers on Wednesday. The games of group B with Vietnam, Afghanistan, Maldives and Tajikistan will take place from Sept. 23 to 29. The venue for all matches will be Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

Despite the current complicated political situation in Afghanistan, AFC has confirmed that the Afghanistan national women’s football team would play the qualifiers as planned.

After playing Afghanistan, Vietnam will face Maldives on Sept. 26 and Tajikistan three days later.

The national women's football team are training at the Promotion Fund of Vietnamese Football Talent Academy (PVF). The team are set to have a training trip to the UAE before playing in Tajikistan. Head coach Mai Duc Chung said the team will have two international friendlies before the qualifiers.
