To prepare for Futsal World Cup this year, the Vietnam national team will play a friendly tournament in Spain.

Players are currently taking a break after the World Cup playoffs in May. They are expected to return to competition in mid-July (depending on the pandemic situation) when the national futsal championship resumes.

Later, the national team would gather in early August for training. They will fly to Spain on Aug. 25 to participate in a friendly tournament with hosts Spain, Japan and Guatemala.

Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Royal Moroccan Football Federation are discussing a possible friendly match between Vietnam and Morocco on Sept. 6 before Futsal World Cup, held in Lithuania between Sept. 12 and Oct. 3.

At Futsal World Cup, Vietnam are grouped with Brazil, the Czech Republic and Panama. The team will play their first game against Brazil on Sept. 13, then Panama on the 16th, and Czech Republic on the 19th.

Vietnam qualified for Futsal World Cup back in May when they defeated Lebanon in the playoffs. This is the second time Vietnam would attend the event, after the first in 2016.
