"I'm satisfied with the 2-0 win. Vietnam have some players who couldn't play due to injuries in World Cup qualifiers and I had to adjust some positions in the team," Park said.
On Singapore's Bishan Stadium, Vietnam dominated the game entirely, from possession (77 percent) to the number of shots (23 compared to six) and scored two goals from the attempts of Nguyen Cong Phuong and Phan Van Duc.
The victory helped Vietnam climb to second in group B, behind Malaysia, who also have three points but scored more goals. Two teams will go head to head on December 12. In 2018, Vietnam defeated Malaysia 3-2 after two legs of the final to lift the trophy.
"We all know that playing Malaysia is like playing a final. We have to give our best. There will be no changes with the tactics. I have watched the game between Malaysia and Cambodia. We must play with 100 percent if we want a good result against Malaysia," Park said.
Vietnam could have won Laos 3-0 if Vu Van Thanh didn't miss a penalty at the end of the second half.
"We always assign who will take the set pieces or penalties before each match. In this game, the order is Luong Xuan Truong and Nguyen Tien Linh. But at that time, both of them have been subbed so I gave the chance to Van Thanh," Park said.
