Vietnam draw against top Spanish futsal club in friendly

In an exhibition match to prepare for the 2021 Futsal World Cup, Vietnam drew 2-2 with Spanish club Cordoba CF on Saturday.

Despite being a friendly, Cordoba still sold tickets for the game, prompting many fans to come support the teams.

Thirty seconds in, Nguyen Minh Tri opened the scoring for Vietnam with an excellent finish. Both teams went back and forth with many chances created but there were no more goals in the first half.

In the second, Cordoba put more pressure on Vietnam and scored two goals in 13 minutes. After that, Vietnam switched to power play and found the equalizer with a goal from Tran Van Vu. In the last minutes, Cordoba also shifted the gears to seek another goal but the score remained 2-2.

Before this game, Vietnam had lost 0-4 to Spain and 0-1 to Japan as part of a friendly tournament in Spain to prepare for 2021 Futsal World Cup in Lithuania that will take place between Sept. 12 and Oct. 3.

After the game, Vietnam traveled to Lithuania right away. The team will have one more friendly match with Morocco on Sept. 6 before entering Futsal World Cup, where they will face Brazil, Panama and the Czech Republic in group D.
