Coach Park Hang-seo dared Indonesia to play fair and square against Vietnam when the two teams meet in the next AFF Cup game Wednesday.

"Compared to our last World Cup qualifying encounter, Indonesia have changed many players and become more robust and powerful. In their last two games with Laos and Cambodia, their attacking line has played well and scored nine goals. I hope Indonesia will play attacking football like that when facing Vietnam. It's good for us," Park said Tuesday.

Before the game, Indonesian media underestimated Vietnam's defensive ability on both flanks, drawing a response from Park.

"If they think we are weak on the flanks then they can attack there. We will wait," he said.

Under Park Hang-seo, Vietnam have won every game against Indonesia, including two in SEA Games 2019 matches and two second round World Cup qualifiers.

Indonesia head coach Shin Tae-yong and Park had met 10 times when both were still coaching clubs in South Korea, with Shin winning eight and drawing one. But when the two met again in World Cup qualifiers this year as national team coaches, Park's Vietnam beat Shin's Indonesia 4-0.

Park has reminded the defense to stay focused in this game.

"In the last two games, the defenders made a few mistakes. Maybe their concentration was reduced. Although we haven't conceded a goal, I had to remind them to play better in the upcoming game," Park added.

Vietnam and Indonesia are both on six points and share the top spot in group B, with this clash to decide the early ticket to the next round.

The match will kick off at 7:30 p.m. (Hanoi time) and will be reported live on VnExpress International.
