The Ministry of Health has agreed to let the national football team quarantine for only seven days after returning from the UAE.

The players and support staff, many of whom have had two shots of the Covid-19 vaccine, will stay in quarantine for seven days and then isolate themselves at home for another week if they test negative.

The team arrived in HCMC on Thursday morning.

They will be tested for Covid on the first and sixth days at quaratine and on the 13th day at home.

Those who have only had one vaccine shot will spend 14 days in quarantine and monitor their healths for 14 more days at home.

During their time in the UAE for the World Cup Asian qualifiers, the team strictly followed pandemic prevention protocols.

Everyone was tested every third day.

The flight carrying the 42-member squad, 13 reporters and 110 Vietnamese repatriates landed at 7:10 a.m. at the Da Nang International Airport. The 110 others got off there, and the flight took the team to HCMC to quarantine in a hotel in District 7.

The players will resume domestic football after the quarantine before gathering again in August to prepare for the final round of World Cup qualifiers beginning in September.
