The Vietnam national women's football team will embark on a training trip to Spain on Dec. 26 and play three friendlies there before competing in Women's Asian Cup.

The team started preparing for the tournament on Nov. 28 at the Promotion Fund of Vietnamese Football Talent Academy (PVF). According to plan, they will train here until Dec. 26, then travel to Spain.

Head coach Mai Duc Chung said he was impressed with the form of his players. He added those with experience and great stamina are crucial to Vietnam's group stage campaign against really strong opponents like Japan and South Korea. During this stage, Vietnam will aim to control the midfield and exploit offensive opportunities.

Besides Japan and South Korea, Vietnam will also play Myanmar in group C of Asian Cup 2022.

"Our goal is to claim three points after three games," forward Huynh Nhu said.

The tournament will take place from Jan. 20 to Feb. 6, 2022 in India. The top five teams will qualify for Women's World Cup 2023.
