Hanoi began the 2019 AFC Cup with a 10-0 win over Nagaworld FC, the biggest margin in the tournament’s history.

The Vietnamese club played their strongest squad against Cambodian champions Nagaworld looking for a victory.

Hanoi immediately dominated the game and attacked in waves. In the six minute they opened the scoring through a piledriver from defender Do Duy Manh from 35 meters out. The second goal came seven minutes later from a tap-in by forward Ganiyu Oseni.

When a Nagaworld defender scored an own goal from a corner, Hanoi FC were leading by three goals in less than 30 minutes.

At halftime the score was 5-0.

The second half was all Oseni’s as he scored three more goals. Nguyen Van Dung and Ngan Van Dai scored one each.

The previous highest margin had been 9-0 when Uzbek club Nasaf beat India’s Dempo SC in 2011.

Hanoi next play Singapore’s Tampines Rovers FC on March 11.
