Vietnam national team midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai and his wife Chu Thanh Huyen have released photos from their maternity album before delivering their first son, who is due in August.

Hai recently posted romantic photos of him and his wife, who is six months pregnant, on social media.

The 26-year-old midfielder added that getting married and having children has given him more motivation in both his career and personal life. He said it has transformed him into a more mature and responsible human being.

Huyen said she spent the first three months of her pregnancy struggling to eat. But she added now that she has passed that stage, she craves food constantly and has gained more than 10 kg.

Huyen has remained active while pregnant. She has been working tirelessly on her livestreaming business, which she uses to sell products online.

Hai and Huyen started dating in 2021. The couple held their engagement ceremony on Jan. 1 before officially tying the knot on March 28 and then hosting a wedding celebration party on April 6.

He later became a key player for the national team. With them he won the 2019 SEA Games gold medal and 2018 AFF Cup. He also helped the squad advance to the final qualifiers of the World Cup for the first time in the country's history.

He won the 2018 Vietnamese Golden Ball, was named the best player of the 2018 AFF Cup, the 2018 Asian Best XI, the 2019 Asian Cup best XI. He even won best Southeast Asian player in 2019. He went to Europe to play for Pau FC in the French second division Ligue 2 in 2022.

Hai then became the first and only Vietnamese player to score in an European professional football league so far.
