Digital firm Next Media has exclusively acquired the screening rights for Copa America 2021 in Vietnam.

The Copa America license package owned by Next Media includes complete and exclusive broadcasting rights on a variety of their platforms like FreeTV, Digital, Pay TV and VOD. Next Media is also allowed to redistribute the rights to other domestic broadcasters and media units.

Copa America, the championship of South American nations, is considered one of the top three international tournaments in the world, next to the Euro and World Cup. This year's tournament was initially scheduled to be held in Argentina and Colombia. However, South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) stripped their hosting rights due to the new outbreaks of Covid-19 there.

The event is set to take place in Brazil from June 14 to July 11 with 28 matches and 10 teams divided into two groups. The top four of each group would advance to the quarter-finals.

Previously, Next Media also acquired the rights for UEFA Euro 2021 matches for their social media platforms. The rights include highlights, on-demand clips, near-live clips and delayed match programs.

Next Media also owns the screening rights for Vietnam’s second round World Cup Asian qualifiers, which would later be distributed to national broadcaster VTV.
