Nhat went to Thailand on June 4 to prepare for the fight. Besides training, he also researched his opponent carefully to come up with a plan to deal with him.
Ghazali was born in 2006 in Sarawak, Malaysia, to an American mother and a father of Malaysian, Indonesian and Japanese descents. Ghazali's parents met while practicing Muay Thai in the U.S.
Even though Ghazali is only 17 years old, he has a winning streak of five matches since turning professional, including four by knockout. Ghazali's most impressive victory was the knockout of Edgar Tabares in just 36 seconds.
Ghazali has abundant physical strength, toughness and good resistance. However, he has limited experience, calculation and distribution of strength.
At the age of 36, Nhat said that his fitness was not as good as before, but he would "fight with everything" he has to defeat his opponent.
This is Nhat's fourth time competing at the ONE Championship, Asia's biggest combat sports promotion. In the most recent match, he lost to Bosnian Denis Puric on Dec. 8, 2023. Before that, Nhat had two knockout victories against Yuta Watanabe of Japan, and Azwan Che Wil of Malaysia.
