Vietnam's plan to attract big spenders from the Middle East would be a tough mission, given cultural and visa reasons, according to readers.

"It would be very difficult as there are many other destinations that are more attractive to rich Middle Eastern tourists."

"HAVE to change the skimpy visa system first. Arabs don't eat pork either. so have to supply HALAL food.. ooooooh. Difficult.!!"

"Better yet, just build a big mosque in Ha Long Bay. They will come in flock."

"Many tourists from the Middle East want to visit Vietnam, and most of them are from Saudi Arabia. As you mentioned, they spend generously on tourism, where they live in five-star hotels, eat in luxury restaurants, and shop for souvenirs and gifts.

But the problem and the obstacle is the visa system to enter Vietnam, where the Vietnamese authorities arranged for them to book a package for the entire trip, and the tourist offices began to take high and unreasonable price, which led to leaving travel to Vietnam and going to other countries that welcome them to obtain visas from airports such as Europe, America and Asian tourist countries. We hope that the Vietnamese visa system will be modified."
