The World Tourism Organization recently listed Vietnam among a small number of countries that have reopened tourism without any Covid restrictions, but some readers disagreed.

"Vietnam is open to countries that can obtain an electronic visa and countries that are exempt from visa only. But not for all countries of the world."

"The 3-month multi-entry visa is still not available."
Sgutieres

"To this day it is absolutely incomprehensible to us that there are no tourist visas that allow us to stay in Vietnam for more than 30 days. Isn't Vietnam interested in us wealthy retirees who want to escape the whole winter in Europe or America? We are happy to show proof of income and bank statements so that Vietnam issues long-term visas for pensioners to us. The cold winter in our countries lasts more than 30 days. E-visas are not sufficient for us."

"The requirement for health insurance is a restriction because not everyone can buy health insurance. For others it is an unnecessarily expensive way to cover health costs and it would discourage a visit to Vietnam."

"Why do we then need to walk around with already proven useless masks, that fill up the landfills will plastic."
Peter de Brassiere

But some readers agreed that Vietnam have lifted all restrictions related to Covid-19.

"Covid restriction means that you dont need to show your vaccination papers, or do any quarantine, or download the local app and put your data in.

It has nothing to do with the medical insurance, which was in place before covid as well as in any other country in the world since the 60's. So, it means all as 2 years ago.

Even the mandatory mask is basically gone in most of the malls and public places."
