The newly upgraded Terminal 2 adds 21,000 square meters to the airport, fortifying Changi’s ability to handle increased traffic. The facility can now accommodate 16 airlines with connections to 40 cities.
The expansion of Terminal 2 project has raised the airport’s annual passenger capacity by five million to a total of 90 annual million passengers across all four terminals.
Terminal 2 now has double the amount of automated check-in kiosks and bag drop machines, along with expanded immigration halls for additional automated immigration lanes, according to CNA.

For passengers with special needs, the terminal offers automated Special Assistance Lanes, both in the arrival and departure areas, a first for Changi terminals.
A new automated baggage storage system, which can handle up to 2,400 bags, has also been installed.
The terminal has a nature-themed design featuring green columns with plants.
The departure hall features a captivating 14-meter-tall digital display, "The Wonderfall," emulating a cascading waterfall.
The departure hall’s old flight information display flip board has been transformed into a kinetic art display with Solari Board flaps, according to the airport's website.
In the transit area, the Enchanted Garden garden filled with a wide variety of orchids and soft ferns, it said.
The transit area also boasts a two-story Lotte Dury Free Wines & Spirits with a robot bartender crafting cocktails for visitors. On the upper level, there's a lounge where visitors can try 18 different whiskeys.
Additionally, there's a dining area with great views of the airport tarmac and a variety of famous food options.
Terminal 2's expansion, which began in January 2020, faced delays mainly because of the Covid-19 pandemic. After a break, arrival operations resumed in May 2022, and departure operations started in October 2022.
