Saigon offers a lively weekend experience with a range of events, from a tattoo festival and a Korean cultural festival, to a workshop on the traditional Japanese Shibori dyeing.

Saigon Tattoo Fest

The Saigon Tattoo Fest 2023 is a collaborative event organized by Saigon Outcast and Follow The White Rabbit. It aims to provide a platform for tattoo parlors, piercing shops, clothing and accessories stores to showcase their work and products.

Visitors can expect a curated selection of tattoo artists, along with a variety of designs and styles to explore. Attendees will have the chance to participate in a lucky draw and win a free mini tattoo.

The event is open to the public for Nov. 18, from noon to 8 p.m. at Saigon Outcast, 188/1 Nguyen Van Huong Street, District 2.

French movie "Van Gogh"

French cinema rendez-vous is a weekly event introducing the richness and diversity of French cinema by screening a variety of very different films. Screenings are held by French Cinema Rendez-vous and Institut français de HCMV.

This week's feature is "Van Gogh," narrating the life of the painter Vincent Van Gogh. Following his time in the hospital, he moves to Auvers-sur-Oise under the care of Dr. Gachet. There, a romantic connection unfolds with Marguerite, Dr. Gachet's daughter, who discovers that Van Gogh's true love lies in his art, the essence of his existence.

"Van Gogh" will be shown at DCiné Cinema, 6 Mac Dinh Chi Street, District 1, on Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. Tickets cost VND60,000 ($2.47) per person.

K-Festival in Grand Park

The Korean K-Festival at Vinhomes Grand Park offers a celebration of various activities and cultural experiences this weekend.

Attendees can revel in the Carnival Hanbok - traditional Korean clothing - performance, savor diverse Korean food, explore a variety of shopping and beauty experiences, and immerse themselves in the music space featuring fan and drum dances. The event also features Korean folk games and an art program presented by students from Korean Global School.

The event is scheduled for Nov. 18 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Vinhomes Grand Park's Light Square, at 512 Nguyen Xien Street, Thu Duc City.

Four Hands Dinner: From Tokyo to Toulouse

SORAE presents a culinary experience, the Four Hands Dinner this Saturday. The event promises a unique and extraordinary culinary experience, combining the artistry of Japanese and French cuisines.

Led by experienced chefs, the 10-course set menu with wine pairing, priced at VND2,200,000 ($90) per guest, offers a blend of flavors.

The event is scheduled for Nov. 18, at SORAE, located on Level 51 of Bitexco Financial Tower, at 36 Ho Tung Mau Street, District 1. The event offers two dining sessions from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Workshop Shibori Dyeing

The workshop Shibori Dyeing is part of the WorksHop Dyeing Month series. It is an artistic event where participants can explore the traditional Japanese Shibori dyeing technique.

The workshop covers various aspects, including fundamental Shibori techniques, pattern selection, practical application, a break for drying finished products, and a segment for souvenir photos and product collection.

Participation fee is VND450,000 ($18) per person and limited to 20 people. The Shibori Dyeing Workshop is scheduled for Nov. 18, at 9 a.m., taking place at 31-33 Thach Thi Thanh Street, District 1. Attendees can register online through the link.
