China, India, South Korea and Vietnam will participate in a light show competition using drones in the central beach resort city of Nha Trang next summer.

Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, director of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, said that the 2024 Nha Trang International Bay of Light Festival was expected to take place over four nights at two locations: April 2 Square on Tran Phu Street and Hon Tre Island in Nha Trang Bay.

Each night, teams will perform artistic light shows with drones for about 15 - 20 minutes.

In addition to light and fireworks drones, teams will use a number of other drones in the competition, such as firefly drones.

Six months ago, over 1,650 drones and lights were turned into symbols and landscapes at the 2023 Nha Trang Sea Festival that attracted more than 600,000 visitors.

Khanh Hoa, home to popular beach cities Nha Trang and Cam Ranh, welcomed 6.2 million tourist arrivals in the first 10 months of this year, including 1.67 foreigners.

In 2019, before the onset of the pandemic, the province welcomed over 7 million tourists, including 3.56 million foreigners.
