Readers argue that Bangkok stands out as a top global shopping destination, offering superior quality, prices, and variety compared to Ho Chi Minh City.

Their comments challenge a VnExpress article in which two Singaporean tourists praised HCMC's shopping experience as being better than Bangkok's.

"In Thailand, local brands Tshirts can start from 100 baht (US$3). If you want better quality then prices are from 200 baht onwards. I'm a Singaporean who has lived in Ho Chi Minh City and now living in Bangkok so I know what I am talking about. Shopping in HCMC is not good and has a long way to go to get better."

"Bangkok has somewhat cheaper prices and better quality material than HCMC."

"If you have been to both cities you will know Bangkok is literally one of the best shopping destinations (malls too) on the planet and Saigon is 40 years and tens of billions of dollars in investment behind."

"Bangkok is way better for shopping. HCMC only sells tiny elf-sized shoes, max places stock is size 44." domreed92

"You can buy big-size clothing easily in BKK, SIN, Manila, Msia. Good luck trying to get it in VN." mstockden

"If you are looking for second-hand or local stuff, Vietnam can be cheaper but it takes work and the mall experience in HCMC is average at best."

"HCMC has very few quality shopping venues. Hanoi does much better."
