Vietnamese diving athlete Nguyen Phuong Anh took decoration to another level when she used her medals as the attraction for her newly opened stone-grilled sausage shop in Hanoi.

Phuong Anh, 25, decided to use the 51 medals from local to national level that she has won over nearly 20 years of her young career as a diving athlete.

"I opened this shop in early 2024. One month later, another shop opened 200 m away from mine, so I came up with the idea to use the medals for decoration and create something different," Phuong Anh told the media. "Some were curious so they stopped by my shop and some thought I was selling medals and asked to buy them."

In kindergarten, Phuong Anh’s potential was discovered, and she chose competitive diving as her professional career.

Her best achievement was a national gold medal, and Phuong Anh also participated in many SEA Games with the national team.

Outside of training sessions, as an extrovert and energetic person, she did not sit still in her free time. That’s when she decided to open the stone-grilled sausage shop on Doi Can Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi.

"At 25, I felt like I needed to do something to help my parents. It didn’t took me long to open a sausage shop at home. This job is not too busy so I can still train every day and get an extra income," she added.
