Vietnam's domestic Covid case count up by 4,060

The Health Ministry confirmed another 4,060 Covid-19 patients in 22 localities Saturday morning, with 2,503 recorded in Ho Chi Minh City.

The remaining cases were recorded in southern provinces of Binh Duong (868), Dong Nai (222), Tien Giang (123), Ba Ria - Vung Tuu (76), Can Tho (55), Vinh Long (48), Dong Thap (31), Kien Giang (16) and Hau Giang (2), the central provinces of Binh Thuan (38), Phu Yen (28), Binh Dinh (9), Thua Thien-Hue (4), Quang Tri (4), Dak Nông (4), Dak Lak (11), Nghe An (2), Ha Tinh (2), Kon Tum (1), the northern province of Son La (10), and Hanoi (3).

Of them, 3,087 were detected in isolated areas and 973 in the community.

Over three months into its fourth wave, the most challenging that Vietnam has encountered, the country has recorded 137,266 cases in 62 of its 63 cities and provinces.

HCMC accounts for most infections, at 88,566.

The country has vaccinated more than 5.93 million people, including 588,893 who have got two shots.
