Vietnam reports two more Covid deaths

A 53-year-old man in Vinh Phuc and an 80-year-old man in Bac Ninh have died after contracting Covid-19, pushing the national pandemic death toll to 66.

The man from the northern province of Vinh Phuc, who had the comorbidities of cancer and hypertension, tested positive for the coronavirus while being treated at the Hanoi-based K Hospital.

The octogenarian from the northern province of Bac Ninh had hypertension and kidney failure. He had tested positive for the coronavirus on May 25.

Both patients passed away on June 19, according to the Ministry of Health.

Since the new wave on April 27, Vietnam has recorded 31 Covid-19 deaths. The country had recorded 35 deaths during the second wave in July and August last year.
