Vietnam recorded 16 more local Covid-19 cases in Hanoi and northern provinces Saturday noon, all contained within quarantine zones.

Nine cases are recorded in Bac Giang, two in Dien Bien, two in Hanoi and one each in Bac Ninh, Ha Nam and Hung Yen.

The nine cases in Bac Giang are associated with coronavirus outbreaks in two local industrial zones. They are being treated at a local field hospital.

The two cases in Dien Bien are women aged 36 and 33 who have made contact with a confirmed coronavirus case. They are being treated at a local field hospital.

The two cases in Hanoi are two men aged 42 and 61 who have made contact with confirmed coronavirus cases. They are being treated at the Bac Thang Long hospital.

The Bac Ninh patient is an 89-year-old woman who made contact with a coronavirus case.

In Ha Nam, the patient is a 29-year-old woman who flew from Da Nang to Hanoi's Noi Bai Airport on Vietnam Airlines flight VN160 on April 29. She has medically declared herself and put into centralized quarantine in Ha Nam.
