Vietnam records 111,638 new local Covid cases

The Health Ministry on Tuesday announced 111,638 new local Covid-19 cases, including 23,262 detected on the previous days but yet to be added to the national database.

The three localities with the highest number of cases are northern Quang Ninh Province with 20,198 cases, Hanoi with 8,993, and central Binh Dinh Province with 6,952.

The additional cases added Tuesday to the national database are in Quang Ninh and Binh Dinh.

On Tuesday, the ministry also reported another 55 deaths due to Covid-19, raising the total number of deaths so far to 42,306 cases, or around 0.5 percent of all infections.

Around 76.8 million people of Vietnam's 96 million population have been vaccinated with two doses, and almost 48.9 million have received the third dose.
