Police of Phu Quoc said that at 11:30 a.m., construction workers were working at a building in Cua Duong Commune when dozens of people came with their cars, took out guns and shot them.
A nearby security camera captured seven cars entering the area. One group of people got off the car and attacked some locals with weapons. At least 12 gun shots soon followed, resulting in the death of two people and wounding three others. The wounded have been taken to the Phu Quoc medical center.
People in the area said there were around 100 people in the cars. They aimed directly at the victims' heads and chests, and also rushed into the building under construction, hunting for more people to shoot.
Six people related to the case have since been arrested. An investigation is ongoing, though a source said the incident might have been a turf war.
