A group of parents were waiting on their motorbikes outside the center in Thu Dau Mot City at around 5 p.m. when the four-seat car jumped onto the sidewalk and crashed into them.
Five motorbikes were thrown over a stretch of 20 meters. Four people were injured while Tran Van Long, 60, died on the spot.
Witnesses said the car driver, Huynh Thanh Bang, appeared to be drunk when he got out of the vehicle after the crash.
Police said his alcohol level was 0.186 mg per liter
Bang, 49, is under arrest for further investigation.
