Bridge to shorten travel time between HCMC, Mekong Delta provinces

A new bridge will be built next month across the Hau River, a Mekong tributary, to replace ferry services between Tra Vinh and Soc Trang Provinces.

Costing VND8 trillion (US$327.4 million) in official development aid, Dai Ngai Bridge will stretch over 15 km long, including leading roads from the two provinces, and span 17.5 m wide with four lanes.

The site clearance process for the project has been done, according to the Project Management Board No.85 under the Ministry of Transport, which will manage the bridge's construction.

Set for completion in 2025, the bridge will replace ferries, contributing to shortening the time to travel between the two localities, and from Ca Mau, Soc Trang, and Bac Lieu provinces to Ho Chi Minh City.
