PM Lawrence Wong paid an official visit to Vietnam from March 25–26, his first visit to the country in his role as Singapore PM. The visit came just over a week after Vietnamese Party General Secretary To Lam visited Singapore, during which the two nations upgraded their ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Vietnam and Singapore established diplomatic relations on August 1, 1973. Vietnam is the first ASEAN country with which Singapore has formed a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

"Bac Bling", released on March 1, is one of the most viral Vietnamese music videos so far. The MV highlights iconic landmarks in the northern Bac Ninh Province, such as Do Temple, Dau Pagoda, and the pottery village of Phu Lang.
It also features cultural traditions like betel chewing, quan ho folk singing, and year-round festivals. The title stylizes the word "Ninh" into "Bling" (sparkling), aiming to portray Bac Ninh as a shining, forward-looking province.
Originally a tribute to a local area, the song quickly gained wide popularity.
On YouTube, "Bac Bling" surpassed the view counts of many international releases from the same period, such as "Earthquake" by Jisoo (56 million views) and "Born Again" by Lisa (73 million views).
At one point, it topped YouTube Charts as the most impressive MV debut globally.
For the week of March 14–20, it ranked sixth globally on YouTube Charts for "Weekly Top Songs."
As of Friday morning, it has attracted over 94.94 million views.
