Hanoi is allowing karaoke, massage parlors, bars and internet cafes to reopen starting this Friday after a year of Covid outbreak related restrictions.

All these establishments should continue to implement Covid-19 safety measure and customers with Covid-19 symptoms are advised to not go to such facilities, the city said in a release Wednesday.

The decision means Hanoi will no longer impose any Covid-19 restriction and is ending various levels of social distancing imposed over the last two years to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

The number of new Covid-19 cases in the capital has dropped from the record 32,000 on March 11 to over 4,000 now.

The city has crossed its Covid-19 peak, officials said Wednesday, noting also that the ratio of people being vaccinated has increased.

On Wednesday, Hanoi let all students from grade one to six return to school depending on the school’s Covid-19 situation.

Over 92 percent of students returned to school Wednesday, according to the city’s Department of Education and Training.
