Gunman robs $25,400 from bank in southern Vietnam

Police in the southern Dong Nai Province are looking for a man who threatened staff at a Vietcombank branch with a gun and stole VND600 million (US$25,450).

Security camera footage shows a masked man dressed in black park his motorbike on National Highway 51 at around 3 p.m. on Thursday and walk into the bank near the Tam Phuoc Industrial Park in Bien Hoa Town, around 45 km northeast of HCMC.

Inside, he pulls out a gun and threatens the staff and forces them to give him the money. He puts the money in a black plastic bag for almost one minute.

He then runs out with the plastic bag, and people chase after him. He opens fire to scare them away before fleeing on his motorbike.
