The government has approved the construction of an expressway in Dong Nai Province under the public-private partnership (PPP) format for VND8.365 trillion ($354.45 million).

The Dau Giay – Tan Phu Expressway will run 60 kilometers in Dong Nai that borders Ho Chi Minh City as part of a connection between HCMC and the hill resort town Da Lat.

According to the approved plan, the section will be built from now until 2025 for vehicles to travel at 100 kph.

Of the investment fund, around VND1.3 trillion will come from the state budget. The project's private investor will be offered preferential treatment in terms of corporate tax and land use fees, among others.

Dau Giay – Tan Phu Expressway is part of Dau Giay – Lien Khuong Expressway, which will stretch more than 200 kilometers to link Dong Nai with Lam Dong Province, home to Da Lat.

Together with HCMC – Long Thanh – Giau Day Expressway, it will create a new route to connect HCMC with Central Highlands localities, easing traffic pressure on National Highway 20.

As proposed previously, the other two sections of the route, Tan Phu – Bao Loc, will run 66 kilometers from Dong Nai to Lam Dong at the cost of VND19.5 trillion, and Bao Loc – Lien Khuong, 74 kilometers within Lam Dong Province at the cost of VN12.5 trillion.
