The office will be located at one of FPT's branches in Japan. FPT currently operates in key Japanese cities, including Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka, known for their strong education systems and thriving technology industries. FPT's latest office in Mita, Tokyo, opened on July 1, highlights its strategic investments in the region.
According to Dr. Le Truong Tung, President of FPT University, FPT Corporation, the new office aligns with FPT's strategy to internationalize education and address the demand for a high-quality workforce.
"The educational representative office will serve as a hub for workforce training, scientific research, and student exchange programs. With Japan as a key partner, we're investing in areas like AI, chip design, and semiconductors to create meaningful opportunities for collaboration and growth," Tung said.
The initiative will also benefit students from Vietnam, Japan, and neighboring regions, providing a dual domestic-international educational experience. Vietnamese students will have access to Japan's cutting-edge education system, while Japanese students will explore Vietnam's academic ecosystem.
FPT plans to leverage its extensive network of Japanese partners and alumni to create opportunities for internships, employment, and further education. By incorporating Japanese language training and cultural immersion into its IT programs, FPT is preparing Vietnamese students for global success while attracting Japanese students to its Vietnam-based offerings.
Chu Thi Thanh Ha, Chairwoman of FPT Software, FPT Corporation, called the initiative a significant milestone in FPT's commitment to training and supplying high-quality IT professionals for Japan's rigorous market. "This collaboration between FPT's IT services and educational units will foster a new wave of professionals equipped with IT expertise, fluency in Japanese, and cultural understanding," Ha said.
With 20 years of operation in Japan, FPT has become one of the largest foreign-invested technology companies in the country, employing over 3,500 staff. Globally, its 15,000 experts serve more than 450 clients with innovative digital solutions.
Since 2009, FPT has partnered with 180 institutions across 40 countries, welcoming international students from Japan, Germany, France, Thailand, and beyond. In 2023 alone, over 3,500 students participated in its international programs, many hosted at its Da Nang campus.
Through this new educational representative office, FPT aims to strengthen global connections and provide transformative learning experiences, solidifying its role as a pioneer in both technology and education.
