Thousands of cars and motorbikes packed the roads leading to Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City as crowds lined up inside for check-in to return home on Feb. 11, six days before the Lunar New Year begins.

Traffic volume has surged during the peak travel period for the Lunar New Year, which begins on Feb. 17. Vietnam officially gives a nine-day break from Feb. 14 to 22, but many people leave work earlier to go back to their hometowns.
