The man, whose identity has not been revealed, was said to be in his 40s.
He was driving on National Highway 13 from Binh Duong to neighboring Binh Phuoc Province when a tanker moving in the same direction hit his motorbike.
The accident took place at 10:30 p.m. in Ben Cat Town, a drive of an hour and a half southwest of Ho Chi Minh City, local media reported.
The Chinese man was run over by the tanker and died on the spot. Police are investigating the accident.
Road crashes are a leading cause of deaths in Vietnam, killing almost one person every hour. A total of more than 18,720 traffic accidents occurred in 2018, killing 8,244 people and injuring nearly 14,800, according to the National Traffic Safety Committee.
