Vietcombank sold the dollar at VND24,545, down 0.02% from last weekend.
The State Bank of Vietnam downed its reference rate by 0.02% to VND24,069.
The greenback was sold at VND24,660 on the black market, up 0.45%.
The dollar has risen against the dong by 3.43% since the beginning of the year.
Globally, the safe-haven dollar edged higher on Monday as violence in the Middle East spooked markets, while a blowout U.S. jobs report gave the greenback a further leg up, Reuters reported.
The greenback — seen as a haven in times of trouble — advanced 0.2% versus the euro and pound, while risk currencies such as the Aussie and kiwi weakened.
