With the Christmas trend growing strongly in the country in recent years, well off Vietnamese families are elaborately and creatively decorating their living spaces for the festive occasion.
Christmas is an occasion for homeowners to show off their home decoration skills, especially for those who grew up in a Christian family like Ha Phi in HCMC’s Nha Be District.Passionate about Christmas, Ha prepares for the decoration from November to make her home the most beautiful and neat. In a two-story house with a floor area of 98 meters square, Ha chooses to display a 1.8 meter Christmas tree. She revealed that decorating the tree only takes about two to three hours. To add a European vibe to the house, she also uses an antique lamp.

Phan Thi Thu Huong from Hanoi’s Nam Tu Liem District came up with the idea of making a paper pine tree to both save costs and increase the bond between mother and child in the context of the pandemic. To make a paper pine tree, Huong and her son took cardboard and rolled it in the shape of a cone to make a frame, then glued pieces of cement paper and checkered paper to make the tree.  The final step is to use a glue gun to attach pieces of orange, cinnamon and ornaments, and install some pine branches on the paper tree.
