A Japanese man, Yoshitaka, discovered just before his wedding that his girlfriend of 7 years, Aki, was actually 25 years older than him.

Yoshitaka, 40, and Aki, 65, first met at a bar that Aki owned, according to the South China Morning Post. Recently divorced, Yoshitaka was instantly drawn to Aki's mature charm. "After talking with her, I realized we both had gone through failed marriages, were raising children alone, and shared many common interests," Yoshitaka shared.

The couple quickly fell in love, but Aki was anxious about the relationship, as she had always claimed to be 44. She feared that revealing her true age might cause Yoshitaka to leave her. Aki's cheerful demeanor and meticulous skincare routine allowed her to appear much younger.

Over the years, Aki subtly tried to hint at her real age by leaving documents like her passport out in the open, hoping Yoshitaka would notice. However, he remained oblivious, merely reminding her to keep her documents safe.

After 7 years together, they decided to marry, and Aki finally revealed her true age to Yoshitaka just before the wedding.

Although initially surprised, Yoshitaka reassured her, saying, "I don’t mind your real age at all. What matters is why you didn’t tell me earlier so you wouldn’t have to worry for so long."

After their wedding, the couple quit their jobs and traveled around Japan. They now run an air conditioner cleaning service and share their daily lives on YouTube, where they have gained 18,000 followers.
